Personal Trainer

Now you’ve clicked onto my site, I’m guessing that you are looking for some motivation, guidance and/or support with making a few lifestyle changes.  With over 20 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge, I am able to work with you to make positive lifestyle changes as well as helping you to achieve your goal.  Whatever your goal is, I can help you get there, whether you require day to day support to help you keep on track or just weekly sessions that will give you an extra boost to your training plan.  I can create a program that will suit your ability, lifestyle and needs.  Feel free to contact me for an initial telephone conversation where I can discuss your requirements before meeting for a free consultation and assessment.

Your exercise program will include strength training, which could be working with dumbbells, barbells, own body weight, kettle-bells, resistance bands and suspension straps. Incorporating high Intensity Interval Training (if suitable) to help you shed fat, tone and gain some muscle for maximum results.

As we get older, or recovering from injury or illness, there may be a time where we need a little help getting back to normal fitness.  This can just be keeping active to help us to continue with our daily routine or to add some physical activity into our lives in order for us to do something extra special or try some activity that involves an extra boost of energy, flexibility or strength.  Increasing our core strength in a very important part of our fitness routine and can be achieved in lots of different ways for all ages and abilities. This is specialised training that I am able to give on a one to one basis or within a group session.  See my Fitness Pilates page for more information on Group Fitness.

About Me

This is where you learn a little about me and about my life.  Personal stuff, 58 years old with 2 very grown up children, 1 granddaughter and a man who is extremely supportive in everything that I do both personally and professionally.  I absolutely love motivating people and enjoy making them walk away feeling great about themselves.  This could be mentally or physically, but its usually both.  The two feelings are significant to our wellbeing.  This, I believe, is where it all starts.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have always been into my fitness.  I loved sport at school, in particular Athletics, running, high jump and long jump. Even at home I used to exercise in the lounge, knowing then, at a young age that exercise was good for you.  Growing up as a young adult I was a regular at my local Leisure Centre, partaking in the aerobics, Step and circuit classes.

This, I suppose is where it all started.  Participating in these classes just wasn’t enough for me.  I just had to take it a little further.

Firstly qualifying as a Fitness Instructor in the gym and then moving towards studio based classes.  Starting with my ETM (Exercise To Music) and then Static Bike, Boxercise and Fitness Pilates to name a few.  I then took on my Personal Training Level 3 Certification where I helped Clients achieve their body/ fitness goals.

My other passion outside of the Fitness Industry (apart from my family) is travel.  I have been very fortunate to have visited some very beautiful places.  Last year I travelled solo to Singapore then onto Australia, New Zealand and finished up in the beautiful island of Fiji.  I took this photo during one of my many photo stops travelling from the North Island to the South in NZ.

Bev is a Qualified Level 3 Personal Trainer.

Fitness pilates

Fitness Pilates can help you power muscles without bulking up.  Legs, arms, back and core have nowhere to hide in a series of flowing movements focusing on mind and body.  Normal daily activities improved without a second thought.  Fitness Pilates develops muscle tone, helps with back pain and de stresses. All you need is a mat and maybe a towel for back support.

Small Group Sessions

Working out with others can make your workout more fun and help you focus on what you are doing without even realising you are working.  Small group sessions can be anything from 2 people up to 6 or 8 (depending on what you would like to achieve as a group).  Small Group Sessions can be held in your home, garden or local park.

If you live in the Leamington Spa / Warwick area of the Midlands then why not try my Fitness Pilates class at St Chad’s Centre, Church Hill, Bishops Tachbrook, Warwickshire, CV33 9TJ

  • Having good posture has many positive benefits for our general health. Standing and sitting in a good (straight) posture can have a positive effect on your mood. Holding yourself correctly can boost your confidence and get rid of any negative feelings. Other than improving your mental wellbeing, it obviously has a huge effect on your physical wellbeing. Hunched back, slumped shoulders alter the whole of your skeleton as well as your internal organs, which has a knock-on effect on your general health. So, improving your posture can improve both, you mentally and physically as well as boosting your self-confidence. So overall health.
  • Signs of poor posture: -
  • Dropped chest and shoulders
  • Lopsided body
  • Round back
  • Collapsed arches in feet
  • Fitness Pilates is an exercise option that focuses on the whole body as a human kinetic chain. It is more of a functional approach compared to the traditional Pilates. The main principles of traditional Pilates still apply to Fitness Pilates, such as Breathing, Centering, Concentration, Balance and Control, but with the additional bonus of involving more functional movements for your day to day life.
  • The aim of Fitness Pilates is to identify and improve basic postural imbalances by doing the following: -
  • Increases muscular balance
  • Increase whole body strength
  • Improves balance and posture
  • Increases the ability to function on a day to day basis
  • Improves back care health
  • Improved flexibility
  • Can flatten stomach

What People Say About Me

Bev is an amazing PT. She knows exactly what I need to continually improve my fitness level. Bev is motivational and professional. We’ve been working together for 5-6 years and I’ve never looked back. I can honestly say that without Bev’s fantastic support and drive I wouldn’t have reached my peak fitness levels nor felt as positive about myself as I do today without her support.

Elina Byrne

Bev is such a fantastic motivator! upbeat absolutely can doer!

Katie Hunt

Bev trained me and my friend in joint hourly sessions once or twice a week. She certainly knows her stuff and pushed us to max so we got maximum benefit from each session. Mixing the sessions each week so we always did something different. indoors and outdoors. Highly recommended

Jo Atkins Bourne

Sharon Feeney

I’ve known Bev for many years as a friend. But back in 2012 I contacted her in a panic as I was getting married in 2013 and had just ordered my wedding dress 3 sizes too small! Well, what can I say; she worked miracles. Bev knew exactly how to keep me motivated and to keep getting the results I wanted. May 2013 came and my wedding dress was almost too big! My Husband even gave her a special mention in his speech!! 5 years on and a beautiful daughter later, I’ve found myself back in a rut. But Bev, as always has managed to motivate me and has tailored my workouts around my ability and my commitments as a Mummy! I couldn’t  recommend Bev any higher. She takes the time to get to know her clients and find out what they want to achieve and works closely to make sure they achieve it.
